Where do I Find the Products I Use

Lots of people want to know where I find the products that I use in my designs. Truth? Everywhere! I'm always on the look out for products. If I'm walking down the street and I see a cool store I'll head in to see what I can find. I Instagram lots of products so I can remember where I saw them. I spend inordinate amounts of time combing throughout trade magazines search for things I think would work well in someone's space. I go down the rabbit hole on Instagram  in the pursuit of excellent ... View Post

Having my chair featured in Luxe Magazine

I spent my early days in my Uncle's upholstery store with my Mom. I played hide and seek between half finished chairs and sofas. All through my life my Mom recovered our furniture breathing new life into them. Many hours were spent pouring over fabrics for these chairs. Many pieces were rescued from the dump and given new life. It's only fitting that after discovering that FIDM had a competition that incorporated textile development, a hint of fabric and design of a chair that I would toss my ... View Post

New Office Design

So I needed more space. My office was literally busting at the seams with all the stuff that goes along with being a designer. Luckily my office is in a complex of offices so I could transfer to a new office with a bit more space with only a slight bump in budget. Plot twist…the new office doesn't come with furniture and the old one did. What's a designer to do? :-) So here's my ultra simple plan for storage and beauty for the new, not so empty office. Physical Effects What happens to your ... View Post

LightShow West and WestEdge Design

So today I attended 2 different events and boy I'm glad I went!! The first was LightShow West I totally refreshed and added to my lighting library. Visited vendors like AFX, Inc, with their great sconce line and decorative cut outdoor lighting. Enjoyed meeting in person the guys from Cerno, I had only previously seen their lighting on YouTube.  I will say that the lamps, overhead lights, and hideaway sconces were even more amazing in person. You should check them out. Bruck Lighting impressed ... View Post

What are some ways that you get inspiration for a space or room Part 2

Some times my inspiration comes from a concept. A feeling I want to evoke when someone enters the room or an interpretation of something I've seen. This is a hard one for me and I don't do it very often. However, when I do go this route it's usually the most successful. So instead of the long explanation I'll just give you some visuals For this room the concept I wanted to evoke was Sunset through the Trees. This home has gorgeous views of the LA skyline and I wanted to bring that feeling in. ... View Post
