I spent my early days in my Uncle’s upholstery store with my Mom. I played hide and seek between half finished chairs and sofas. All through my life my Mom recovered our furniture breathing new life into them. Many hours were spent pouring over fabrics for these chairs. Many pieces were rescued from the dump and given new life.
It’s only fitting that after discovering that FIDM had a competition that incorporated textile development, a hint of fabric and design of a chair that I would toss my hat in the ring. I spent 10 weeks refining the design and structure of this chair. I waited anxiously as it emerged from the manufacturers hands. To say I felt as if I were waiting for the birth of my second child wouldn’t be an understatement.
When I caught the first glimpse of her my emotions were in an uproar. She wasn’t exactly what I imagined but as time went on I fell deeper in love with her.
Having graduated and moved into the business world I wanted to give others the opportunity to have my baby bring some life to their spaces as well. So in seeking to introduce her to the world I contacted various publications and we pleased to have someone at Luxe Magazine suggest their MUST HAVES section to feature her.
This edition of Luxe Magazine will be placed in the Doheny Greystone Estate in Beverly Hills during the Luxe Interiors + Design Show House: Maison de Luxe so thousands of people will see her and perhaps a few 100s will want to have her.
She has been draped in various fabrics and is available to customers who want to choose their own fabrics. I’m super excited about this opportunity and can’t wait to move forward with more furniture design in the future. She is available at CHANSAERAE FURNITURE
