So this very blue kitchen, I met this homeowner through her contractor. She wanted to do something unique and special in her kitchen and so he contacted me to help develop the vision. One of the first things we decided was that we were going to keep existing cabinets and paint them since they were in such excellent condition.
I had previously completed a bathroom for her with a custom blue vanity and so decided that this kitchen would also have a hint of blue to it. Once we had decided on the theme I went about choosing the elements of the kitchen. The blue backsplash attracted me immediately and so I used that as a jump off for the rest of the kitchen.
This kitchen does a little metal mixing with chrome/stainless steel elements such as the faucet and appliances with brass knobs and pendants. We extended the bar to allow for seating, with gorgeous oversized pendants for lighting and a small shelf to display accessories. We ran continuous wood like tile throughout the kitchen, dining and adjoining laundry room.
This transformation was made complete by painting the dining room ceiling in a blue that matches the backsplash. All of this made for a very blue kitchen.
What are you dreaming about for your kitchen? Better layout? Complete gut, or just a refresh like this very blue kitchen?
