This Southwest DC Waterfront Condo was purchased during my client’s final year in Law School and she was savvy enough to look past the mattress in the corner of the first floor and the dastardly paint job and see the potential of this condo.
Fast forward 17 years, a husband, a daughter and a previous renovation and she knew her Southwest DC Waterfront Condo was ready for a change. Although she reached out to several contractors, designers and design build firms in the DC area it wasn’t until our first consultation that she felt her needs and concerns were being heard.
After presenting the concept to her (which she fell in love with) we moved forward with execution. Check out the pictures below
We basically took the whole 1st floor to the studs. I completely reconfigured the space. Under the Pergo we found white oak floors in pristine condition. The kitchen had tile that once removed had just subfloors. So we feathered in more white oak then sanded and stained a soft white for added light and brightness. The lighting was very poor so we added recessed lights, sconces, flush mounts and under cabinets lighting. As part of the project I brought in an organizer (Organized by JWC – http://janellewilliamsconsulting.com/about/) to set up the kitchen.
Of course because of Covid we waited almost a month for the furniture but it was all worth it in the end.
